Pastor Larry Grunden

Pastor Larry is a 2010 graduate of Wright State University and a 2015 graduate of Trinity Lutheran Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. A second career pastor, Larry was reared in the suburbs of Cincinnati and has lived in the greater Dayton area since 1996. His previous life experience is in home remodeling and his undergraduate degree was in vocal music. Pastor Larry has a heart for all ministries, but is especially passionate about youth ministry, music ministry, and missional ministry.

Pastor Larry has been married to his wife, Angela Barber, since 2004, and they live with their cat Ellie Mae. Together they enjoy traveling, both foreign and domestic; cooking and eating gourmet meals; attending festivals; gardening; and hosting their families for dinner. Pastor Larry also enjoys woodworking, fishing, bicycling, softball and many other activities.

Pastor Larry is a believer that “discipleship” is a verb. To believe in Christ is to be in motion in our churches, our communities, and in our world. In addition to the Sacraments, one of the most powerful activities in which we can participate is prayer. It is here that we connect with God and become closer to our Creator. It is also through our hands that we experience Jesus Christ as we use them to help others in need. He believes that together we can make a difference in the world!
